Authentic Antique French 5-Tier Zinc Bottle Drying Rack
I found this adorable medium-sized French zinc bottle drying rack at the market in Metz, France. These racks are sometimes known as hedgehogs in France because of the spikes. ;) They were originally used around the 1930s in bistros, cafes and restaurants to dry wine and champagne bottles. This rack stands 20 inches high. The diameter of the base is 16 inches and the diameter at the top is 7 inches. It does have a little rusting around the bottom and one spike has broken off (you can see it in the photos - it's on the very top).

This drying rack is the perfect table-top size for hanging coffee cups or other kitchen items. I've also seen some crafty friends use these as ribbon holders (love!) and some people have crafted them into chandeliers (which would be lovely for a wedding!). Another great use for weddings would be to hang escort cards from the spikes. :) And, of course, it also makes a great flowering tower (see below).
