Vintage French Enamel Salt (Sel) Boxes
I collected these pretty French enamel Sel boxes at all the French brocantes I frequented while I was living in Germany. They were used in the early 1900s to keep salt fresh in the kitchen. I can totally imagine them on the walls of a charming French farmhouse in the country, can't you? They all measure approximately 9.5 inches high at the back with a 4.5 inch depth for the salt and 6 inches across. They are in good vintage condition but all have some rusting from age and use. I added some individual notations below for each salt box regarding condition. They make beautiful decor pieces!
